Pep Guardiola believes that Xavi will return to Barcelona one day and take over as the head coach of the main team.
The 39-year-old Catalan, who has ended his playing career, is currently working as a coach in Qatar, at the "Al Sadd" club. Xavi himself has stated multiple times that one of his main goals, when he becomes a coach, is to train "Barça".
"Sooner or later, it will happen," Pep Guardiola said about Xavi's chances of taking over the reins at Barcelona.
"He is still very young, but at some point, it will happen. He understands football and has a huge passion and dedication. Xavi is a very brave personality and does not shy away from speaking his mind," praised the former pupil by the "Manchester City" strategist.
Asked about his own experience in the Barcelona coach's seat, Pep Guardiola added: "It was a great period in my life. Back then, I didn't have much time to enjoy it, but during the process of creating the team, it was possible to see that the changes were effective and everything was unfolding perfectly.
"I saw everything I wanted to see from the players - their connection and respect for the club's principles."
