Pep Guardiola calmed down Tottenham's strategist Mauricio Pochettino by stating that Manchester City club is not interested in the possibility of acquiring one of the best Premier League midfielders Dele Alli.
Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi earlier this week revealed that P. Guardiola is closely following D. Alli and admires his game, therefore, he may try to buy him in the summer.
In response to these words of the player, M. Pochettino reacted angrily, mentioning in a press conference that his relationship with Xavi has been poor since Espanyol times, so he is on P. Guardiola's side.
However, P. Guardiola quickly cooled off the talks about D. Alli: "Mauricio Pochettino can remain calm - Dele Alli will remain a player of his team next season. I have no doubts about that."
"He is a fantastic player, a new face in English football. He is a great fighter. I don't know if I have seen a better attacking midfielder during my career.
However, we will definitely not acquire him. We don't need him," added P. Guardiola.
The 21-year-old Englishman in this season's Premier League matches played 31 games, scored 16 goals, and made seven assists.
