"Manchester City" club manager Pep Guardiola expressed interest in "Arsenal" star Alexis Sanchez and did not spare compliments for the Chilean forward before the FA Cup semi-final match. Guardiola stated that Sanchez is a player of a very similar level to Lionel Messi.
"Man City" has been linked with acquiring Sanchez for some time now, as his contract will expire after the 2017-2018 season, and the club is confident they will be able to sign the forward. Speaking before the semi-final match against "Arsenal," Guardiola hinted that he would like to see Sanchez in his squad.
"How do big clubs strengthen? With amazing players. Of course, all big clubs are aware of his situation," Guardiola said about Sanchezo's expiring contract. "When the most talented players leave for 'Barcelona,' they realize how unique Messi is. But Alexis is just one step below. He is a fantastic player and I am very happy with how he plays for 'Arsenal,' especially this season scoring goals," continued the Spaniard.
Guardiola also believes that if Kevin De Bruyne had a one-year contract, many teams would be interested in him, acknowledging that he is also interested in Sanchez. Although the Chilean has already scored 23 goals this season, "Arsenal" still holds only the 7th place in the "Premier League." With 19 goals in the "Premier League" competition, Sanchez is the third top scorer.
