P. Guardiola: "I don't want us to stop at just one Champions League trophy © AFP

“Manchester City” on Saturday won UEFA Champions League trophies for the first time in the club's history.

The “City” defeated Milan's “Inter” team in the final with a minimal result of 1:0.

This season, “City” also won the trophies of the English Premier League and the FA Cup, achieving the so-called “Treble.”

After the final, “Man City” coach Pep Guardiola said that winning the Champions League is extremely difficult, but admitted that he believed in his team's success this season.

“It is extremely difficult to win this trophy. In the first half, we seemed a bit scared, but we knew we had to be patient. During the break, I told my players that the last time we played in the final in 2021, we were already behind after the first half, so now we are in a better situation.”

“After the break, we changed several aspects, but success in the Champions League is very important. It is like flipping a coin. However, I think fate just lined everything up this season so that we simply had to win,” P. Guardiola said.

The Spaniard also stressed that “City” must continue to work hard and return to defend their title next season.

“I don't want us to stop with just one Champions League trophy. We have to work even harder.

We have seen examples of teams disappearing after winning a trophy. We must avoid that. Knowing me, that certainly won't happen.”

“For us as a club, this trophy removes the extra pressure that we have felt all this time.

With this team, I have won the Premier League five times, but people always felt something was missing. They said I had to win the Champions League,” P. Guardiola added.
