"Manchester City" coach Pep Guardiola would like Raheem Sterling to sign a new contract with the club.
Almost three years ago, the winger arrived from "Liverpool" to the "City" team and this season he finally demonstrates his full potential and is one of the team leaders.
The 23-year-old footballer has also been playing excellently for the England national team lately, shining in the recent match against Italy.
"Speaking about contracts, I am not the responsible person. Txiki talks about it ("Man City" sports director Txiki Berigistain - ed. note)," said Guardiola.
"It (keeping Sterling - ed. note) is undoubtedly important. However, agreements are agreements. Agents, circumstances, and perhaps other clubs may also be interested in him."
"So, anything can happen, but he knows how important he is to us."
There is a little over two years left on Sterling's current contract with "Man City," and rumors of interest from Madrid's "Real" have recently appeared in the foreign media.
