P. Guardiola: "Premier" league is not the strongest league in the world

"Manchester City" team strategist Pep Guardiola has seen a lot of top-level football. And it seems that he doesn't like it when people say that the English Premier League is the strongest league in the world.

The strategist still believes that the English league needs to take a few steps forward to become such. The specialist, who has won several titles with Bayern and Barcelona, identified a glaring problem in English football - the results in international tournaments.

London's "Chelsea" was the last English team to play in the Champions League final, which was in 2012.

"I know you like to hear that you are the best league. You are the most watched league. Of course, the Premier League is strong. But I wouldn't say that playing in the 'Santiago Bernabeu', 'Camp Nou', 'Bilbao', 'Sevilla' stadiums is easy," said the coach.

"All Spanish teams look very good in the Champions and Europa Leagues. For example, 'Sevilla' won the Europa League three times in a row. The Premier League will be like that when five teams in the Champions League can reach the final rounds. To be able to say that we are the strongest league, we need to move forward," expressed P. Guardiola his opinion.
