Pep Guardiola no longer suits the title of the champion of the English Premier League. The Catalan understands very well that this season in the country's championships belongs to the Liverpool club.
On Sunday, the "citizens" lost 0:2 away to London's Tottenham and are now as far as 22 points behind Liverpool.
P. Guardiola claims that the team needs to focus on other tournaments and securing a place in the top four.
"We are too far behind to stop Liverpool with such a points difference," the coach said at a press conference. "We often lose points in matches like today. The same thing happened at Anfield stadium."
"Our focus is now on other tournaments and securing a place in the Champions League," the coach continued.
"Two seasons ago, we gathered 100 points and were ahead of Man Utd by 19 points. I don't know how many points separated us from Liverpool back then, but the current Liverpool is even stronger. Today's reality is bitter - in the match against Man Utd, we missed a goal with the first shot on goal, created numerous chances, but just like today, we lost the match.
Finding a solution to this problem is an incredibly difficult task. I really don't know what we need to do," the coach said.
