P. Guardiola to "City" managers: I will need 200 million pounds for new players

ep Guardiola informed the "Manchester City" management that he will need 200 million pounds to overhaul the team.

According to Mirror, the new "Manchester City" coach urged the team to undergo massive changes after Manuel Pellegrini's team barely made it to the top four of the Premier League. However, even with wealthy owners, it is doubtful that Guardiola will be able to assemble his desired team just this summer, but also in the following summer.

It is believed that Guardiola sees only Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, and Fernandinho in the current "City" team's starting lineup. Most of the Spaniard's desired players are valued at more than 25 million pounds, so the 200 million pounds may not be enough to acquire even eight players for the starting lineup.

Vincent Kompany could become the fourth current team player to make it into next year's lineup, but the Belgian is plagued by constant injuries, so the new coach is unlikely to rely on the defender's fitness, and the squad should be supplemented with another center-back.

It is reported that "Man City" has already begun to implement some of Guardiola's wishes and is ready for a productive summer. However, the team management is convinced that most of the current squad's players have not revealed their full potential under the former coach, so they are not inclined to accept the Spaniard's offer to replace almost all players, agreeing to change only some club representatives this summer.

The first of Guardiola's acquisitions should be Ilkay Gundogan, who would join from "Borussia" for about 20 million pounds. "City" is also negotiating with "Athletic" for Aymeric Laporte and trying to reach an agreement with "Schalke" for the acquisition of Leroy Sane. However, none of these clubs are willing to easily let go of their young talents, so the English team will have to open its wallet wide to convince the current clubs of these players to release them to the Premier League.

It is also believed that Guardiola will call on not only one member of the team's academy but also wants to acquire several English players for the team. He wants local players because the future of current team members Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling in the club is not very clear.

The former Bayern coach wants a goalkeeper in the team who can confidently play with his feet, so Hart may have to give way to Barca goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Sterling has recently suffered from a lack of confidence, and the two-touch system, which Pellegrini wanted and Guardiola also supports, is not favorable to the young Englishman. The 21-year-old winger will hardly be allowed to use all his strengths according to the new coach's tactics, but the player bought 12 months ago for 49 million pounds may not be sold this summer. However, in the future, this option should definitely not be ruled out.

Among the candidates to bolster the English ranks in the "City" club are mentioned John Stones, Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Danny Rose.

Arsenal is not eager to part ways with Wilshere, but may be tempted to sell Oxlade-Chamberlain. Everton demands at least 45 million pounds for Stones, and he is also being eyed by Chelsea and Manchester United, so "Citizens" may have to give up the idea of acquiring him. The most realistic City purchase among the named candidates could be Rose, whom Tottenham could sell for about 15 million pounds.
