P. Guardiola: "We play matches similarly to the NBA, but they have a four-month break." © ZUMAPRESS.com

The head coach of Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, stated that the expectations placed on his team are enormous and criticized the large number of matches:

"I know that people want us to win all 38 matches with a score of 5-0... They also expect that every season we will win the Treble, as that is our standard.

But Bournemouth is a very good team, and they deserve to win the match against us."

"Maybe when the FIFA Club World Cup is happening, we will only arrive for the later stages of the tournament... Even in that case, we would play almost 70 matches in a season, just imagine that!

A schedule of 70 matches is like in the NBA, yes... The difference is that NBA players have a four-month break, while we have barely three weeks."
