P. Jagielka: this England national team can become special

Captain's note before facing the Lithuanian national team Phil Jagielka believes that the current England team has the potential to achieve resounding victories.

In the recent qualifiers for the 2016 European Championship in Vilnius, the English team defeated Lithuania, securing their tenth victory out of ten possible and becoming the sixth team to achieve such a result.

The victory for Roy Hodgson's team was ensured by accurate shots from two youngsters Ross Barkley and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Giedrius Arlauskis added an own goal for the opponents.

"We knew that winning all 10 matches would be difficult, but it was our plan from the very first day and, fortunately, we managed to implement it," Jagielka told ITV.

"It is true that the composition of the team changed several times, but it only shows how strong we are and, of course, the players who score goals show how capable our youth is. I hope that if we nurture them properly, this team can become special."

Furthermore, Everton defender Jagielka admitted that the Euro Championship favorites France, Spain, and Germany look threatening. However, according to Jagielka, playing as a team, the English can defeat them.
