Just a day after saving the club in the highest league following a dramatic end to the English Premier League season, Paul Jewell has decided to leave.
The 42-year-old Englishman managed Wigan for six years and led his players to victory 127 times in 291 matches. During that time, he took the club from the third English league ("Division One") to the Premier League, earning a ticket in the 2004-2005 season.
Last season, Wigan finished in tenth place in the English championship, and on Sunday they won 2-1 against Sheffield United as guests to dramatically stay in the Premier League due to a better goal ratio.
The English media reports that P. Jewell could become the head coach of Man City, as if the club were to switch hands, Stuart Pearce would most likely lose his job.
