After helping Munich's "Bayern" club win their 5th consecutive "Bundesliga" title, 33-year-old Philipp Lahm briefly reflected on his career. The defender also promised to enjoy every second at the club until the end of his career, which he has decided to finish after the season.
Carlo Ancelotti's team secured the German title by defeating the "Wolfsburg" team 6-0, which will be Lahm's last trophy. Lahm has 21 trophies with the "Bayern" team, including 8 "Bundesliga" titles and one Champions League trophy. However, the German revealed that he is disappointed that he couldn't score more goals in his career.
"8 league titles, 21 in total, that's good. But how many goals? It could have been better", Lahm remarked. "Winning a 'Bundesliga' title is never easy. And now I have to enjoy these last few weeks, every training session."
"On the last day, I will take everything in. Many people will be at the stadium, my family, friends. There have been many impressive episodes there. For example: the first German title. Even though I won so many, the first one is still unforgettable," the defender said.
"A special thing is that over all these years I had the opportunity to work with all these players, coaches," added Lahm. Despite deciding to end his career at the age of 33, he insists he has no doubts about it: "I feel it. I have that feeling in training, in matches. I know it's the right decision."
