The star of the team Pavel Nedved will help the Czech national team in the two qualifying matches for the 2006 World Cup in Germany against Norway after a 16-month break, Czech national team coach Karel Brueckner announced on Thursday.
The 33-year-old midfielder has been called up to the Czech national team squad for the matches against Norway, which will take place on November 12 in Oslo and November 16 in Prague.
After securing second place in their group and qualifying for the knockout stages, P. Nedved himself spoke about a possible return to the national team, which he left due to "excessive workload" after the 2004 European Championship.
"No one has called me yet," recently said the best player of the 2003 European, "But if they called and invited me, I would seriously consider the offer."
"The return would be only for two matches, but I would be very happy to help my country," said the Czech.
