In the match of Group F between the teams of France and Germany, Paul Pogba and Antonio Rudiger got involved in an unpleasant incident. As the first half was nearing its end, the Frenchman complained to the match referee that he had allegedly been bitten on the back by the opponent's defender. Nevertheless, the referee ignored P. Pogba's pleas and did not use the VAR system. The incident, which was heard, was also commented on by the former famous defender Roy Keane, who insisted that it was just a "nibble."
