"Manchester United" defender Paul Pogba has endorsed the UEFA RESPECT project and encourages homosexual footballers not to hide. According to the Frenchman, he has not yet had the opportunity to meet gay players on the pitch.
"I haven't had the chance to play with them yet, but why not? After all, they are human too. What they do in their personal life has no relation to their activities on the pitch. If he respects you, you respect him. It's all very simple. It's all based on respect and we are all equal in the world and when playing football," said Pogba.
The Frenchman also hoped that the 2018 World Cup in Russia would be free from racist insults.
"We can play with Chinese, Africans, French, Americans - no one is superior to others and this is the message we want to convey to everyone."
