The Frenchman Paul Pogba, representing the "Juventus" club, did not hide his disappointment after the UEFA Champions League final in Berlin on Saturday ended with a triumph for the "Barcelona" footballers.
The 22-year-old midfielder expressed criticism towards the Turkish referee Cüneyt Çakır who officiated the match. In the middle of the second half, with the score tied at 1-1, the "Barcelona" player Dani Alves brought down the "Juventus" footballer in the penalty area, but the referee remained silent.
"I think the referee made mistakes, but that's football. We just have to learn from it, draw conclusions and move forward," said the footballer.
The Frenchman admitted that the Catalans were the better team that Saturday evening and especially regretted the second missed goal.
"We fought with all our might, but 'Barcelona' was better. After equalizing the score, we understood that we could win, but it was precisely then that the second goal fell into our net. It killed us," confessed P. Pogba.
