Legendary English goalkeeper Peter Shilton revealed a scandalous fact from his life.
According to the celebrity, he was addicted to gambling for 45 years and only his second wife helped him get rid of this addiction.
P. Shilton told the publication "Daily Mail" that he started betting on horse races while still playing football professionally, and from 2005 he also dived into online gambling, participating until late at night.
Most interestingly, the 70-year-old could never boast of significant winnings.
"In life, I always managed to celebrate victories everywhere, except in gambling - I never succeeded in triumphing there," said P. Shilton.
"You can stop - that's the message I would send to others who are addicted to gambling. It caused me a lot of emotional and financial problems, because now I could have been much wealthier," said the Englishman who hasn't placed bets for five years.
