This year in the "TOPsport A League," Gargždai's "Banga" demonstrates a rather stable game and several young footballers are showing their talent within the team.

Not playing to all attacking players, more opportunities were given and expectations were justified by Pijus Srėbalius, who was recognized as the best young player of May after counting the votes of commentators and online hosts.

The 21-year-old footballer played in four matches last month, starting all of them and contributing to a couple of surprises achieved by "Banga." The most notable episode - a goal against the champion "Panevėžio."

P. Srėbalius most often plays in the attacking line this year and scored once in 13 matches, as well as providing an assist.

"In my opinion, the month of May was the most impressive for both me and my team. I had to take on the role of captain, during which I scored a goal and secured victory for the team. We also experienced a painful defeat, but it helped to put more work and effort. I want to thank the coach and my team for trusting me and giving me the chance, which allowed me to reach my best form.

My goal for this season is to help the team achieve as many victories as possible, secure a higher position in the league, and reach the cup final, as last year we were very close to this opportunity. Personally, I want to continue to improve and aim for higher goals," shared the representative of "Banga."

In March, the best young player recognition went to Alytus DFK "Dainava" legionnaire Ode Abdullahi from Nigeria, in April - forward Armandas Kučys from "Kauno Žalgiris."
