"Liverpool" legend Phil Thompson believes that the club's defensive problems could be solved by "Stoke City" captain Ryan Shawcross.
The "Reds" have been particularly vulnerable in their own half this season, as shown by their recent 5-4 result against "Norwich".
Despite signing Queens Park Rangers defender Steven Caulker on loan until the end of the season, manager Jurgen Klopp is aware that the team needs to improve defensively.
Meanwhile, in their last 13 Premier League matches, the "Potters" have kept a clean sheet seven times.
"When Liverpool analyze their season at the end and look at the goals they've conceded, I wouldn't be surprised if Shawcross turns out to be the best solution," Thompson told Sky Sports. "In fact, I think he would be a perfect fit - over the last five seasons, he has been the most underrated center back. Just look at Stoke's stats with and without him."
In total, in 23 Premier League games, "Liverpool" have conceded 32 goals, while the "Potters" have allowed their opponents to score 25 times.
