Despite all the reports in the press about a possible transfer of Pablo Zabaleta to another team, the player confirmed that he will remain in Manchester City.
The Argentine, who joined the team in 2008, lost his starting position last season to Bacary Sagna. However, despite all the rumors about players moving to Italy, Pep Guardiola sees the player in the City lineup, and the player himself decided to stay in the current team.
"There were so many rumors in the media. I don't know how many times I was already sent to Italy. It's unbelievable. Every day there was something written about a new team. I always avoided it because I knew from the very first day that this would be my decision.
The new coach told me that I have a place in the lineup, so I'm very happy - being in the City ranks was my priority. I know my contract is only valid for a year, so there are a lot of speculations about my future. However, I didn't want to decide anything before meeting with the coach and discussing the plans for the new season. I'm glad that I can be part of Manchester City next season," the defender said.
The 31-year-old player played only 13 matches in the Premier League last season.
