Painful blow: "Borussia" without two players lost to "Schalke"

On Saturday, a big surprise was recorded in the 31st round of the Bundesliga matches.

The "Borussia" team, still fighting for the title of champions, suffered a 2-4 defeat at home to the footballers of "Schalke".

The hosts' start to the match promised nothing bad. Already in the 14th minute, M. Gotze redirected the ball into the goal after an amazing pass from J. Sancho. Just four minutes later, "Schalke" equalized the score, with D. Caligiuri converting a penalty kick.

In the 28th minute, "Schalke" defender S. Sane put the visitors ahead with a header after a corner kick.

The situation for BVB worsened even more in the 60th minute - M. Reus was sent off the field for a rough foul against an opponent. To make matters worse, "Schalke" managed to take advantage of the awarded penalty kick and D. Caligiuri scored a great goal.

In the 65th minute, "Borussia" lost another player - M. Wolf was sent off the field.

"Borussia" did not give up and in the 84th minute, A. Witsel reduced the score. However, any hopes of the hosts were dashed just a few minutes later when B. Embolo scored the fourth goal for "Schalke".
