"Palermo" changed the team's head coach

"Palermo" team fired head coach Giuseppe Iachini and appointed Davide Ballardini as the new team coach.

The club is currently in 12th place in the Serie A championship, and in the last match against the "Chievo" team on Sunday, they won 1 - 0. However, this was only the second victory for the team in the last 10 matches.

The 51-year-old coach led the "Palermo" team for two years and in his debut season he led the club to promotion from the Serie B championship, and last year he helped the team to finish in eleventh place in the top division.

The team's president Maurizio Zamparini has changed 29 team coaches since taking over the club in 2002, including this coaching change. Iachini was the longest-serving coach in the club under this owner's leadership.

The new team coach Ballardini, also 51 years old, had previously worked at "Palermo" in the 2008-2009 period. Since then, he has worked at "Lazio", "Cagliari", and "Bologna", and was appointed as the coach of "Genoa" twice.
