The Italian club "X" has dismissed Francesco Guidolin from the position of head coach. He will be replaced by his former assistant Renzo Gobbo.
The patience of the Sicilian club's leaders ran out after the defeat suffered on Sunday with a score of 3-4 against the underdogs "Parma."
"Palermo" had a successful start to the "Serie A" championship, being among the leaders for a while, but in the last 11 games, they only managed to get 7 points and currently occupy only the 6th place. However, they have not lost hope of securing a place in the UEFA Europa League.
The club president Maurizio Zamparini spoke about the dismissal of the coach: "Perhaps our coach did not achieve with the team what he could achieve. We have a good team - we can fight for the 'scudetto' (Italian champions title), but recently we have played like a team fighting to avoid relegation in the league."
The 51-year-old F. Guidolin previously coached "Palermo" in the 2004-2005 season. Later, he worked with the teams of "Genoa" and "Monaco," returning to the helm of "Palermo" last summer.
