The football club "Panevėžys" will conclude the fourth round of the "TOPsport A League" this coming Saturday. Whether this will be the season's finale will be determined after the 36th round match against the "TransINVEST" team from the Vilnius region.

The championship debutants, who are in 9th place, have gathered 37 points over 35 matches – with 11 wins, 4 draws, and 20 losses. Panevėžys has 3 points more and ranks 7th; however, Stijno Vreven's team would relinquish this position if the "TransINVEST" team achieves victory.

The team from the capital of Aukštaitija will not drop to 10th place, but they could remain in 9th and play relegation matches if they experience a loss on Saturday and Telšiai "Džiugas" manages to defeat Vilnius "Žalgiris" at home. If "Panevėžys" wins, it is impossible to drop below 7th place, and with favorable results from Gargždai and Alytus, they could move up one or two spots higher.

This year, "Panevėžys" has faced the team from the Vilnius region four times. They won the Super Cup after a penalty shootout, drew 1:1 at home, and achieved a victory of 2:1; conversely, the match held in Širvintos ended in disappointment with a score of 0:3.

Before the trip to Vilnius, Domantas Vaičekauskas, who scored two goals in the match against the champions last week, shared his impressions.

"The match against Vilnius 'Žalgiris' was the best in my career so far. It's clear that I could have done something better. There were many situations where I could have played much better. There are no perfect games; there is always room for improvement."

"The 'TransINVEST' team is indeed a capable team, with both weak and strong points, just like all teams. If we make the most of our chances and fight with all our might, we will definitely achieve a positive result," he told fk-panevezys.lt.

The match between "TransINVEST" and "Panevėžys" will take place on November 9, Saturday. The duel, which will be broadcasted by the LRT Plius channel, will start at 16:25 at the LFF stadium.
