The football club "Panevėžys" will be represented by the left-back defender Lauritas Krasniqi, who holds both Kosovo and Belgian citizenship. The club and the player have agreed on a contract that will last for two years.
The 23-year-old defender developed at the oldest Belgian team, Antwerp's "Royal" academy – he debuted with the main team and often represented the reserves, "Young Reds." In the 2023-2024 season, L. Krasniqi was loaned to Kerkrade's "Roda" club, which was then competing in the second-tier division in the Netherlands.
The Kosovo-born footballer intends to start preparing for the season with his new team.
"When I found out that 'Panevėžys' was interested in me, I didn't hesitate for a second. I believe this is a great opportunity for me to show what I can do. I am in excellent shape; my season started five months ago – I can't wait to meet the team and the coaching staff."
"My goals are to play as much as possible, and of course, to become a champion or secure a place that allows me to compete in European tournaments after the season," L. Krasniqi stated to fk-panevezys.lt.
The players of "Panevėžys," under the new strategist Rolandas Vrabec, will gather for the first training session on January 6.
