Panevėžys defeated Vilnius region's TransINVEST club at home

The postponed 27th round match of the "TOPsport A League" was played in Panevėžys, where the local team outperformed the Vilnius region's "TransINVEST" team – the match ended with a score of 2:1 (1:0) in favor of the hosts.

The first half unfolded rather calmly until the 25th minute, when Kasparas Dubra, after a pass from Lucas de Vegasa, headed the ball into the net. In the 35th minute, the guests made a mistake near their own goal; Cheikhou Dieng, who skillfully outmaneuvered the opponent, was stopped at the last moment, and Pavle Radunović's attempt was blocked.

At the end of the half, an unpleasant incident occurred when Aleksandras Levšinas, having committed a foul and suffering an injury himself, left the field limping. The player, who could not continue the match, was replaced by the team's newcomer Žanas Flisas – the latter made his debut in the Vilnius region team.

The Panevėžys team was effective at the start of the second half when, in the 47th minute, Pavle Radunović's strong shot was denied by Stefanas Čupičius, and Domantas Vaičekauskas directed the rebound into the net. However, just a few minutes later, the score changed again – the guests managed to score, with Chidera Nwogu correcting Henrique Devenso's shot.

In the 65th minute, Pavle Radunović's attempt was stopped, and Cheikhou Dieng's shot after the rebound flew very close to the goal; shortly after, Roberto Mazano's response also failed to find the target.

After the postponed "TOPsport A League matches," the situation in the tournament table heated up even more – both "Panevėžys" and "TransINVEST" have 32 points each, as do Marijampolės "Sūduva" and Telšiai's "Džiugas," with Alytaus DFK "Dainava" holding just one point more.
