Panevezys" signed a goalkeeper

The football club "Panevėžys" invited a goalkeeper from Moldova to join their ranks. After Vytautas Černiauskas and Tomas Švedkauskas left the team, Emilis Timburas joined the team with a contract valid until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper started his career at FC Zimbru in Chișinău, later was transferred to FC Torpedo Zodzino, and in 2019 moved to SSU Poli Timișoara in Romania.

In the same year, he arrived at the club Milsami Orhei in Moldova, before moving to Lithuania. E. Timburas played in all four games for "Panevėžys" in the UEFA Conference League, conceding 3 goals and successfully dealing with penalties.

In 2022, the goalkeeper represented his national team in a friendly match against Uganda.

"My contract with Milsami had expired and I was looking for new offers. Representatives from Panevėžys contacted me, told me about the situation at the club and asked if I would be interested in joining the team, they made an offer. After a few days of consideration - everything satisfied me, I signed the contract and now I'm here.

It has been six years since I first tried my luck as a foreign player - a lot has changed in my life and career. I am now full of strength and optimism for this new chapter. I am confident that with the help of my teammates and club staff, I will adapt well.

My goals are to play, improve, and contribute to the team. Also, to do everything with the team to win every match, continue to progress in European competitions, achieve a higher position in the championship, delight the fans and enjoy together with them," Timburas shared his thoughts with fk-panevezys.lt.

The next match for "Panevėžys" will take place on June 16, Sunday. The 17th round of the TOPsport A Lyga will be held at the LFF Stadium against Vilnius "Žalgiris" starting at 18:25.
