The football club "Panevėžys" will face off this coming Sunday in the penultimate match of the "TOPsport A League" fourth round. In the 35th round, the players from Panevėžys will compete against Vilnius "Žalgiris," who secured the champion title some time ago.

The capital club, still with one postponed match to play, has accumulated 76 points after 33 matches – 23 victories, 7 draws, and 3 losses. Currently, the Vilnius team boasts a streak of five consecutive wins, with their latest victory being a 1:0 win against the players from Vilnius County's "TransINVEST."

Before the 35th round, the players from Panevėžys are in seventh place with 37 points, but they will have a better idea of their position after their direct competitors play three matches on Saturday.

In head-to-head matches this year, "Žalgiris" has performed better. The Vilnius team defeated "Panevėžys" both times in the Lithuanian championship with a score of 2:1, and they confirmed their superiority by the same score in the "FPRO LFF Cup." The third meeting in the "TOPsport A League" ended in a scoreless draw – 0:0.

In the upcoming match, captain Linas Klimavičius will be unable to play due to suspension. Ahead of the duel, central defender Milošas Vranjaninas shared his thoughts with the fk-panevezys.lt website.

"I suffered an injury, twisting my ankle, but I feel physically ready and prepared for Sunday’s match.

We have to give our maximum effort fighting for every ball, remain focused throughout the match, and capitalize on our opportunities. In the previous match, we had a lot of good chances to score but didn’t take advantage of them," said the Serbian.

The match between "Žalgiris" and "Panevėžys" will take place at the LFF Stadium on November 3, Sunday. The match, which will be broadcasted on the LRT Plius channel, kicks off at 18:15.
