Pankratjevas: I am assigned to two matches, so commenting - difficult, but victory is encouraging © EuroFootball.com

The coach of the Lithuanian national team, Igoris Pankratjevas, after the victory against Latvia was not inclined to talk much and had many questions to postpone for the future.

"I would like to thank the fans who supported the team. The game was tough: there was a lack of understanding, as we have hardly played with this lineup. Therefore, we are very happy with this victory," said the strategist. "Comparing it to the match in Riga, which was not tragic, it should be noted that today there were different emotions."

"Did Latvia surprise us? There are never identical games. Although we played against this opponent for the second time, tonight there were no several Latvian players, but they were replaced by others, equivalent footballers."

When asked about his opinion on defender Marius Žaliūkas, who has been without a club for over half a year, I. Pankratjevas replied with one word: "Good."

He was not willing to comment on the decision not to invite David Šemberas, Marius Stankevicius, Žydrūnas Karčemarskas, Edgaras Česnauskas to the national team: "I am appointed for two matches, so we will definitely not see older players against Bosnia and Herzegovina. And what will happen next, I don't know. Also, I wouldn't call them veterans."

And he added: "Of course, the team is led by the coach, this time there was more healthy sports anger than in Riga, but I could not say that the players now understand the Lithuanian coach better than the foreign one."
