Ray Parlour is leaving the English champions club. The 31-year-old player has signed a three-year contract with Middlesbrough, some time after Arsene Wenger announced that Arsenal no longer needed Parlour's services.
For the current owners of the English Cup, the player cost 1.7 million pounds.
"Middlesbrough" and "Arsenal" have reached an agreement," said Parlour's agent Steve Kutner to the press. "Arsenal will receive a certain amount of money based on the player's performances on the field, and Ray has agreed to a salary reduction and signed a three-year contract. He is excited to be able to play in Europe with 'Middlesbrough' in the upcoming season and very happy to continue his career, as there was one year left on his contract with 'Arsenal'."
Parlour became the fourth signing for Middlesbrough this summer. The club had previously reached agreements with Mark Viduka, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Michael Reiziger.
Ray Parlour represented the 'Gunners' from the beginning of his career in 1988.
