The club that has withdrawn from the UEFA Cup has filed a protest against the attack by fans on goalkeeper Luca Bucci in Moscow. UEFA promises to investigate this complaint tomorrow.
It should be noted that on Thursday, in the first half of the match, 10 minutes after CSKA scored a goal, the home team's fans started throwing firecrackers onto the field, resulting in Parma coach Pietro Carmignani having to make a substitution because goalkeeper Bucci suffered a mild concussion.
"Luca told me he felt dizzy, so I made the substitution. I believe the player will return to his usual form soon, as the injury is not terribly serious," said Parma coach Pietro Carmignani.
"The fans certainly behaved badly, but I'm somewhat satisfied that no major incidents occurred. You have to understand our supporters. They have been waiting for this moment for so long, as the Russian team had reached the final of the European Cup. I think they got too excited after the first goal. By the way, in the Champions League match between Milan and Inter, we saw far more firecrackers than here, and the incidents that took place on the field were much more serious than here at the Lokomotiv stadium," said CSKA coach Valery Gazzaev.
UEFA should reach a decision on this incident on May 8, which is tomorrow. Therefore, the verdict will be clear before the UEFA Cup final on May 18, where Moscow's CSKA will face Lisbon's Sporting.
