Deividas Šemberas will definitely play in the UEFA Cup final - After a meeting in Geneva on Sunday, the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Committee decided to reject the club's protest regarding the injured team goalkeeper in the match in Moscow, but the Russian club was still punished.

In the match on Thursday, which "CSKA" won 3-0, in the 11th minute Russian fans started throwing firecrackers onto the field. One of them exploded near the visiting goalkeeper Luca Bucci, who suffered an injury - he was diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum. Due to this injury, the veteran was advised not to fly home, so he is still being treated for the injury in the Russian capital.

In that match, "Parma" had to replace the goalkeeper in the 20th minute, and dissatisfied Italians filed a protest after the match where they claimed that such an early substitution was an unexpected loss for them, for which the Moscow club was to blame. In turn, "CSKA" disputed this protest and claimed that the match was well organized.

However, the Disciplinary Committee rejected "Parma's" protest and deemed it unfounded, but considering the seriousness of the incident, they imposed a fine of 100,000 Swiss francs on the "CSKA" club. UEFA also ordered the Moscow team to play the next home matches in the European tournament without spectators, and if there is another infringement in the next two years, another match will be added to this penalty.

Although "Parma" can still appeal by Wednesday, it is difficult for the club fighting for survival in "Serie A" to expect that the decision will be changed. Therefore, on May 18, in the UEFA Cup final in Lisbon, "CSKA" will play against "Sporting."
