Participants of the African Championship semi-final are revealed

In the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations taking place in Equatorial Guinea on 4th of February, the national teams of Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ivory Coast will play, and on the 5th of February - Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.

This was revealed after the last quarter-final match on Sunday, where the 1992 champions of the continent, the Ivory Coast football players, defeated the Algerian team 3:1 (1:0) and reached the semi-finals after three years.

The winning team scored two goals, Wilfried Bony (26 and 68 min.), one by Gervinho (90+4 min.), and the losing team scored with a goal by El Arabi Soudani (51 min.).

In the third quarter-final match that ended on Sunday, Ghana, who has won the continental championship four times (1963, 1965, 1978, and 1982), defeated Guinea's team 3:0 (2:0) and advanced to the semi-finals for the fifth consecutive time among the four strongest teams of the tournament.

In the quarter-final on Saturday, the host Equatorial Guinea team defeated the 2004 African champions Tunisia team after extra time 2:1 (0:0) and reached the semi-finals of the tournament for the first time. After a seventeen-year break, the Democratic Republic of the Congo football players, who advanced among the four strongest teams of the "Black" continent after the first quarter-final match, defeated the Congo team 4:2 (0:0).
