On Friday evening, in a dramatic "La Liga" match, "Real Betis" defeated "Elche" with a score of 3:2.

The hosts started the game excellently and took the lead with two goals before ten minutes had passed. In the 7th minute, Fidel converted a penalty kick, and shortly after, Lucas Boye doubled the advantage.

However, the second half turned the game upside down. In the 55th minute, "Elche" defender Lisandro Magallan received a red card for a foul that was deemed the "last hope" violation of the rules.

The red card was also shown to the "Elche" goalkeeper Papa Cheikhas, who was seated on the bench and was particularly unhappy with the referee's decision.

After this incident, "Betis" quickly equalized the score when Borja Iglesias and Juan Miranda scored in the 65th and 68th minutes, respectively.

In the 88th minute, "Betis" had a golden opportunity to take the lead, but Borja Iglesias failed to convert a penalty kick.

However, in extra time, the drama reached its peak when in the 90+4th minute, the hosts' defender committed a foul in their own penalty area, giving "Betis" another chance to extend their lead by converting a penalty kick. This time, Willian Jose successfully executed the standard situation.

After these matches, "Betis" is in fifth place in the league standings, trailing behind the Madrid "Atletico" players who are one spot ahead on the ladder. However, the "mattresses" have played one game less.
