The head coach Rafael Benitez seems to have finally convinced striker Peter Crouch that he will not be sold this summer.
The tall footballer managed to compete fairly successfully last season for a place in the starting lineup alongside Craig Bellamy, Dirk Kuyt, and Robbie Fowler. However, the club, going through radical changes in the near future, will be supplemented by several capable and well-known newcomers, so there were rumors about a possible end to P. Crouch's career at Liverpool.
"R. Benitez told me that I am in his future plans and that's enough for me," - reassured the 26-year-old Englishman, currently preparing with the national team for a friendly match against Brazil and a Euro Championship qualifying match against Estonia.
"Of course, all of us will face tough competition, especially considering the coach likes changes."
It is already clear that R. Fowler will no longer play for Liverpool next season, as the Spanish strategist did not offer to extend his contract. The departure of C. Bellamy is also linked to a move to another team, as he did not meet all expectations during his year in the team.
This summer, R. Benitez intends to spend the most money in the club's history in order to attract players capable of competing for the English champions title.
"The coach will acquire top-class footballers, so each of us must always be ready and competitive."
