Pedro is pleased with the changes at London's Chelsea club and claims that Maurizio Sarri has similarities to Pep Guardiola.
Chelsea's season in the English Premier League is going amazingly so far - they have won five out of five possible victories. Today, the "Blues" can further increase their points tally if they beat West Ham away.
Speaking to British journalists, Pedro elaborated on Maurizio Sarri's working methods: "The team is better than it was last year. The coach's ideas are commendable - we now use high pressure, attack a lot, and have more players in the front line.
Playing football where you can control the ball and create one dangerous opportunity after another is always a good idea. With Sarri, we have to run quite a lot, but that running is different when you greet opponents in their half.
With Antonio, we were different - we may have been more compact, but we defended in our half. This means that after winning the ball, we had to go a long way to reach the opponents' goal. In Sarri's team, after winning the ball, you are usually in a good attacking position.
These are some of the biggest changes compared to last season. The changes were necessary for the team itself. Looking at the statistics, you will see the same - we play better and win game after game," praised M. Sarri and his football ideas without sparing Pedro.
Asked if he sees any similarities between Pep and Sarri, the footballer answered without hesitation, "Yes": "I see a lot of similar ideas, which I first encountered playing for Guardiola's Barca. They are similar coaches, whose ideas, especially in attacking football, are the same."
