Brazilian football legend Pele admits that his country could be embarrassed in front of the whole world if the preparations for the 2014 World Cup are not completed on time.
"Brazil is at risk of embarrassment in how it will host the planet's premier event," Pele told journalists.
Concerns have been raised for some time that the country is struggling to deal with airports and other infrastructure needed for transportation.
"The delay in the works is certainly not reassuring. Everyone knows how hard we fought to be able to host this championship and the 2016 Olympic Games. We traveled around the world agitating people to vote for us, so everyone involved in this project is worried," Pele said.
He added: "The main problems are related to transportation, but airports are also a concern."
