Stambul's "Beşiktaş" lost one of its most important team players - the contract with Portugal's national team defender Pepe was terminated by mutual agreement. The 35-year-old footballer ended cooperation with the Turkish team for one reason - the club is drowning in debt and does not have the means to pay players' wages. Pepe may be followed by several other famous players, including Ricardo Quaresma and Ryan Babel. Pepe joined the "Beşiktaş" team in 2017, when he left the Madrid "Real" club after ten years. The Portuguese became a very important player for the Turkish team - during that time he managed to play 52 matches and score seven goals, five of which were scored this season. It is believed that the defender will not be without a team for long, as several European giants have shown interest. It is not excluded that even Jose Mourinho could invite the veteran to his team until the end of the season.
