The leader of the Portuguese championship club with defender Pepe has signed a new contract three years longer - the player agreed to represent the strongest team of 2003 Europe until 2011.
The 23-year-old Brazilian's good athletic form caught the attention of several European clubs, but "Porto," unwilling to risk losing one of the best players in the team, offered to extend his contract for another five years. The current defender's contract still had two years left.
Pepe plays an important role in his team not only in the Portuguese league, where they hold the 1st place but also in the UEFA Champions League G group, where "Porto" has collected 10 points and ahead of London's "Arsenal" team due to a better goal difference.
