Portugal hoped that the result achieved in Catalonia would give Zinedine Zidane's players an emotional boost and allow them to demonstrate excellent results at the end of the season.
"They said we would be beaten by four or five goals. Even with ten players left, we showed sacrifice and achieved what seemed impossible," the defender rejoiced.
"We dedicate this victory to the fans. Many things were said: that we lack expertise and that Cristiano Ronaldo will be empty. It was unfair."
