The star of the English national team, David Beckham, is most likely to leave Madrid if Enrique Sobrino wins in the new team president elections. Beckham, whose name has been frequently mentioned in the front pages of newspapers lately due to possible short-term romances, is associated with London, but it is more likely that he will still remain in Spain.
However, if the main competitor of the current club president Florentino Perez, who brought the Englishman to this team, the lawyer Sobrino wins the elections, Beckham could be sold.
"I would listen to all offers for Beckham," said Sobrino. "He must change."
Such statements seem a bit strange, as there is not much time left until the presidential elections, and Beckham, who arrived in Madrid, quickly became one of the favorite players among the royal club fans.
Even more strange is that "Real" earns a lot by having Beckham in their ranks, as he is one of the most prominent figures in the football world.
"Some players try hard enough, and some do not," Sobrino continued. "If I became president, I would definitely listen to all offers for Beckham and Luis Figo. People say that Roberto Carlos has an agreement with another club ("Chelsea" - ed.). I don't know if that's true, but if he expects to secure an exclusive contract, we certainly won't offer it to him."
