Petr Cech Finished his Career in the Czech National Team

At the age of 34, London's Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Čech played his last European Championship for the Czech national team in 2016 - the goalkeeper is ending his career in the national team. Starting his career in the national team in 2002, P. Čech, along with other Czechs, fought for a spot in the quarterfinals of that European Championship, but finished last in a group with Spain, Croatia and Turkey. It was expected that P. Čech would still be seen in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, but the goalkeeper decided to retire from the national team. The Arsenal goalkeeper himself wrote on the official Arsenal Twitter account: "We had some amazing moments with the national team. Now I just want to wish a better future for the national team!" Having spent 14 years in the Czech national team, P. Čech played a total of 124 matches. The goalkeeper was unable to achieve many victories with the men's national team, but in 2002 he became the European Under-21 champion.
