Romanian "Rapid Bucharest" head coach Dan Petrescu stepped down from his position after only a few months in it. The former London defender took over the team in December from Mircea Rednic, but the season for the Romanian capital club was very unsuccessful - they may not have won any trophies.
A 3-1 loss to "Universitatea Craiova" team tested the patience of one of the best players in the former Romanian national team. After the defeat, Petrescu contacted the team president Giovanni Becali and informed him of his resignation.
Currently, the "Rapid" team is 7 points behind the leading "Dinamo Bucharest" club.
