After winning the German Cup final against Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola admits that replacing former coach Jupp Heynckes was not easy.
This season, Bayern won the German Bundesliga championship, and on Saturday they also secured the national cup, but after the humiliation in the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid players, Guardiola received a lot of criticism.
"This is the sixth year I work as a coach and the fifth as the team's head coach.
"I coached the second team of Barcelona for a year. After four years at the helm of the main Catalan team, this season was the most important and challenging for me," Guardiola said.
"My German is not yet so good, so it's difficult to explain my ideas to the players. It's hard to replace Heynckes, who won three titles last season.
"I still haven't implemented my ideas into the team, but we can be proud of what we have achieved," the Catalan insisted.
