"Manchester United" officially announced that the team's defender Phil Jones has signed a new contract until 2019, with the possibility of extending it for another year.
The 23-year-old footballer made his debut in the "Man Utd" team in 2011. So far, he has played 128 matches and won the English championship with the team in 2013.
"We are happy that Phil has signed a new contract. He is a talented and versatile player who can play in several positions," said head coach Louis van Gaal.
"Phil is still a young defender who is constantly improving. Last season he missed several matches due to injury, but I was impressed by his professionalism and attitude."
Phil Jones himself said: "I am delighted with this contract. I have enjoyed my time spent here and will continue to strive to improve as a player. It's great to be part of this club and I can't wait for the new season. I would like to thank the coach, coaching staff, and fans for their support."
