Platini: Choosing the path of the judge must be a masochist © EuroFootball.com

UEFA President Michel Platini has once again expressed a negative opinion on the issue of "goal line" technology, stating that it would turn football into a computer game.

FIFA is considering the implementation of this technology, but the UEFA chief believes that the decision should be made by the referee, who will now be assisted by two additional assistants behind the goal line in some tournaments.

"The referee must be assisted by clubs, fans, players, and managers," the Frenchman told the Scottish FA website. "That is why in the Champions League the referee is assisted by two additional assistants."

And he added: "Choosing the path of a referee must be a sort of masochist. Therefore, the more eyes the referee has, the better he will be able to assess the situation."
