Goalkeepers
18-Kasey Keller (Borussia Mönchengladbach). Date of birth: 29.11.69. Matches for the national team: 91. Goals: 0. Because of his excellent organization of defense, this famous goalkeeper will be participating in his third World Cup – previously, the American guarded the national team's goal in the 1990, 1998, and 2002 tournaments. Out of 91 matches played for the national team, K. Keller left the field having not conceded a single goal in 41 of them.
36-year-old veteran will undoubtedly be the main goalkeeper for the national team in Germany.
19-Marcus Hahnemann ("Reading"). Date of birth: 15.6.72. Matches for the national team: 6. Goals: 0. One of the key players of the English "Reading" team, who helped the team to reach the highest - the "Premier" league for the first time in its 135-year history. He has been assigned the role of a backup goalkeeper.
1-Tim Howard ("Everton"). Date of birth: 6.3.79. Matches for the national team: 15. Goals: 0. The past few years have not been successful for this goalkeeper – the American failed to establish himself at "Man Utd" and lost his place in the national team's starting lineup.
Despite this, the national team coaches have not lost hope that T. Howard will start demonstrating reliable play again and decided to take him to Germany while spending the upcoming season in "Everton".
Defenders
2-Chris Albright ("Los Angeles Galaxy"). Date of birth: 14.1.79. Matches for the national team: 19. Goals: 1. A player who has been called up to the U.S. national team multiple times, playing in both forward and defender positions. He will most likely satisfy the role of a backup defender in the World Cup.
3-Carlos Bocanegra ("Fulham"). Date of birth: 25.5.79. Matches for the national team: 39. Goals: 6. A defender who can play on the edge and in the center, with excellent heading skills. However, C. Bocanegra did not play particularly reliably in the qualification matches, so he will likely spend most of the games on the bench.
6-Steve Cherundolo ("Hanover 96"). Date of birth: 19.2.79. Matches for the national team: 33. Goals: 1. A fast right-back, constantly posing a threat in the opponents' penalty area. Depending on the circumstances, he can also play in a safe pair. Although S. Cherundolo's career was halted by injuries, a healthy player will be an important member of the national team in the World Cup.
13-Jimmy Conrad ("Kansas City Wizards"). Date of birth: 12.2.77. Matches for the national team: 13. Goals: 0. An important player for the "Wizards," but due to lack of experience, has not become a key defender in the U.S. national team yet. He has good performance in the backline, but tends to make mistakes in position.
12-Cory Gibbs ("Den Haag"). Date of birth: 14.1.80. Matches for the national team: 18. Goals: 0. A defender able to play in the center or on the left, C. Gibbs had his last season halted by a knee injury, representing the national team just three times last year. Due to this reason, he may be forced to settle for a backup role.
7-Eddie Lewis ("Leeds United"). Date of birth: 17.5.74. Matches for the national team: 68. Goals: 8. Over the past three years, he gained the trust of the coaches and became an important player in the national team. Known for his excellent crossing, although he mostly played in the position of a left-back, he will most likely play in the defense at the World Cup, unless the coach decides to play with five defenders.
Before arriving at "Leeds", he played for "Fulham", "Preston North End", and Los Angeles "Galaxy."
22-Oguchi Onyewu ("Standard Liege"). Date of birth: 13.5.82. Matches for the national team: 12. Goals: 1. Became an important player for the national team, as coach Bruce Arena has not found a better candidate for the center-back position yet. A physically strong player who can attack dangerously, he is one of the leaders in his club, but still considered a rookie in the national team.
Nevertheless, O. Onyewu will undoubtedly be a starting player in the World Cup.
23-Eddie Pope ("Real Salt Lake"). Date of birth: 24.12.73. Matches for the national team: 78. Goals: 8. A long-time main player in the national team started demonstrating less reliable play in 2005. In recent years, injuries slowed down this once incredibly fast player, who is also excellent at playing in the "second floor." However, E. Pope, who played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, can expect to make it into the starting lineup in Germany.
Midfielders
17-DaMarcus Beasley (PSV Eindhoven). Date of birth: 24.5.82. Matches for the national team: 55. Goals: 12. After shining in the 2002 World Cup, Beasley became one of the most important players in the national team. Excelling in both central midfield positions, DeMarcus Beasley is particularly dangerous when attacking as a team.
Having arrived from the Chicago "Fire" in 2004, the player demonstrates a solid and reliable game.
15-Bobby Convey ("Reading"). Date of birth: 27.5.83. Matches for the national team: 36. Goals: 1. A fast left-back midfielder, able to play both in that position and in defense. A technically sufficient player with a great left foot shot.
Like M. Hahnemann, he was one of the most important "Reading" players last season.
8-Clint Dempsey ("New England Revolution"). Date of birth: 9.3.83. Matches for the national team: 19. Goals: 4. A midfielder with a more defensive style, lacking international experience. In the World Cup, the best rookie of the 2004 MLS is planned to play a backup role.
21-Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy). Date of birth: 4.3.82. Matches for the national team: 78. Goals: 25. Became one of the team leaders after a superb performance in the 2002 World Cup. L. Donovan can successfully play in both the central midfield and offensive positions.
He is known for quick passes and accurate shots on goal.
4-Pablo Mastroeni ("Colorado Rapids"). Date of birth: 26.8.76. Matches for the national team: 46. Goals: 0. One of the last players to be included in the national team – defensive midfielder P. 5-John O'Brien ("Chivas"). Date of birth: 29.8.77. Matches for the national team: 29. Goals: 3. A versatile player, playing both attacking and defensive positions in the midfield. Known for accurate passes, he can successfully "maintain" the ball and strike dangerous shots on goal.
Injuries have plagued his career, but at the 2002 World Cup, he played in all matches, although since then, he has played in just 10 games for the national team and club.
14-Ben Olsen ("D.C. United"). Date of birth: 3.5.77. Matches for the national team: 36. Goals: 6. A fast, versatile player, playing both on the edge and in the center. Over the past two years, he played in the national team in just eight matches due to an ankle injury.

Before arriving in Manchester, he played for "Sunderland", Glasgow "Rangers," "Wolfsburg," and Bayer Leverkusen.
Forwards
11-Brian Chingas ("Houston Dynamo"). Date of birth: 24.5.78. Matches for the national team: 17. Goals: 3. The first Hawaiian to play and score in the U.S. national team. While being one of the leaders of his club, he has not yet revealed his true potential in the national team, and despite his speed and good heading, he will be a backup at the World Cup.
9-Eddie Johnson ("Kansas City Wizards"). Date of birth: 31.3.84. Matches for the national team: 15. Goals: 9. The future of the U.S. national team's attacking line, scoring in his debut match and defeating opponents' goalkeepers eight times in his first nine appearances for the national team. E. Johnson has unlimited potential, but spent a large part of the last season injured and has not yet reached his best form.
20-Brian McBride ("Fulham"). Date of birth: 19.6.72. Matches for the national team: 90. Goals: 29. He excels at playing with his head, but recently suffered from injuries.
Undoubtedly, B. McBride, who played for "Everton," "Preston North End," and "Columbus Crew," will be a starting player in the eleven.
16-Josh Wolff ("Kansas City Wizards"). Date of birth: 25.2.77. Matches for the national team: 45. Goals: 9. One of the main players for the national team in the qualification matches, but, like many others, suffered from injuries last season.
A fast player, good at playing with his head, still has not regained his best form, but will also be a significant player for B. Arena's team in the World Cup.
