For the 41st time in the weekly magazine "Futbol" selection in 2004, the best Russian player was chosen as Dimitrij Syčiovas, a teammate of Deividas Česnauskas in Moscow club.
The 21-year-old Syčiovas, with 15 goals in the Russian Premier League, helped "Lokomotiv" to take away the championship title from the city neighbor. Meanwhile, the football player who has played for the Russian national team 21 times this year increased his goal tally to ten.
The attacking leader of the "Lokomotiv" team, Syčiovas, won in the poll of 240 football journalists - he was chosen first by 63 experts, second by 56, and third by 34 survey participants - so the player collected a total of 335 points.
In second place with 220 points was striker Alexander Kerzhakov, while his partner in the attack, Andrei Arshavin, had to settle for third place with 202 points. Lima, a defender from Brazil, who was sixth in the voting, won the award for the best legionnaire.
