The third most powerful Portuguese league match ended just as it began.
"Canelas 2010" player Marco Goncalves attacked the match referee who angered him and hit him on the head.
Shortly after, the match was interrupted, and the police officers who appeared on the scene took the criminal away.
Later, Goncalves apologized with a lost memory: "I don't remember hitting him. The referee pushed me. If you say I hit him on the head, maybe it was... I would like to apologize to both the referee and his family, as well as the opposing player from Rio Tinto who provoked me."
The "Canelas 2010" team released a statement condemning such behavior of a football player and will not allow him to play in the team until further notice.
