This week, the players of "Žalgiris" will train alongside the strongest team in the Czech league, but their visit time may extend until summer.
"Bohemians 1905" wants to have representatives of the Lithuanian champions in their ranks until the end of the season. Whether M. Kuklys and E. Vaitkūnas will be loaned to the Prague team for half a year will be clarified after their visit to the Czech Republic.
In the long term, we aim to cooperate with the "Bohemians 1905" club. We are connected not only by the same colors - green and white, but also practically identical history - both "Žalgiris" and "Bohemians 1905" at one time were rescued from extinction by their most loyal fans. There are only two clubs like us in the world.
We hope that "Žalgiris" and "Bohemians 1905" will have a close relationship. We hope to sign a cooperation agreement in the near future, which will cover all levels, from youth academies to first team players," said Mindaugas Nikoličius, Director of Sports of VMFD "Žalgiris".
"At the moment, the "Bohemians 1905" club is balancing on the edge of relegation from the "Gambrinus" league, so their leaders turned to us. Egidijus and Mantas are the players who can help the club stay in the league, but they themselves will decide whether they are interested in staying in the Czech Republic. We allowed them to travel to Prague for a week, then we will make joint decisions about their further fate.
We are actively working in the transfer market. We are negotiating with six potential newcomers to our team. We hope to receive further additions as early as this week," reveals the "Žalgiris" sports director.
It is planned that in the summer "Žalgiris" and "Bohemians 1905" will play friendly matches.
